Partha Gopalakrishnan authored an article for Business Reporter in which he suggested that the lessons UK and US boards can learn from the Middle East’s approach to ESG.

In an article written for Business Reporter, Partha argued high interest rates and cost-cutting pressures are leading to the scaling back of ESG commitments by UK and US companies.

However, many consumers and investors still value ESG. So, executives must adapt their approach to integrate successful ESG initiatives that drive value.

Partha advised they look to the Middle East for inspiration and take the following steps:

  • Prioritise culture over labels and certificates.
  • Integrate local values and communities into ESG strategies.
  • Foster collaboration between the public and private sectors in ESG initiatives.
